Gloaming Project
creating in light & shadow
Gloaming Project is a collaborative entity rooted in the belief that art is an ongoing dialogue with existence itself. Founded by Djahari Clark and David Kamm, the project creates original, interdisciplinary work in which movement, sound, image, and story are developed in conversation with one another.
Our process is intuitive and deeply physical. We work through sensation and curiosity—allowing form and meaning to emerge through collaboration. We are drawn to spaces of ambiguity, where beauty and unease coexist, and where audiences are invited into shared, time-altered experiences.
Drawing from folklore, sound, image, and embodied ways of making, Gloaming Project creates experiences that are at once intimate and expansive. Whether through residencies, workshops, or full productions, our aim is to create spaces where we are reminded—briefly and collectively—of what it is to be exquisitely human.

FOUNDERS
Djahari Clark – Producer, Director, Choreographer
Djahari Clark is a multidisciplinary artist creating performance works that blend movement, character, and puppetry into visually rich, emotionally charged environments. Her work is rooted in the body as a primary storytelling tool—where narrative emerges through physicality, image, and atmosphere.
Trained in Persian Ballet and contemporary dance, she was a principal performer with Pars National Ballet for over a decade under the direction of Abdollah Nazemi. She also trained at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum Academy and holds a BA in Theater Arts from UCLA.
She directed the performance group Desert Sin for over twenty years and co-founded Gloaming Project as a home for collaborative, process-driven work. Her projects have been presented internationally, and she continues to develop new work from her base in the Catskills.
David Kamm – Music Director, Composer, Guitarist
David Kamm is a composer and guitarist whose genre-blurring work draws from punk, folk, jazz, mountain music, and Chinese folk traditions. Known for his expressive, fingerstyle acoustic approach, David creates music that is spare, emotionally resonant, and deeply attuned to narrative and atmosphere.
Emerging from Burlington’s 1990s music scene, he performed with groups such as Famous Potato and The Billionaires before developing a solo practice centered on composition and collaborative performance. His album Saudade has been described as a “modest masterpiece”—rich with emotional clarity and simple truths.
As Music Director for Gloaming Project, he creates original scores in close dialogue with movement and story. His work with Djahari Clark includes Cloud Cuckooland, The Ballad Tree and a range of immersive performance projects, where live music functions as a central narrative force.
